OTTB rematch held at PA Horse World Expo

BY STEUART PITTMAN—Five graduates of last year’s Retired Racehorse Project’s  $100,000 Thoroughbred Makeover, presented by Thoroughbred Charities of America, performed this weekend in Harrisburg at the Pennsylvania Horse World Expo. Their task was to demonstrate to the crowd that off-track Thoroughbreds are the most trainable, elegant, versatile partners that a human can find anywhere. At 20 years old, Viva Pentelicus is far from slowing down. Instead, the poster boy for Healing Arenas in California will be back to work at California Agriculture Day – AG Day 2016 – on Wednesday, March 16 on the West Steps of the California State Capitol in Sacramento. The event is hosted by the California Department of Food and Agriculture. The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) kicks off its annual hay drive.

The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation officially launched its annual TRF Hay Drive on Friday, February 19. Started in 2008, the annual TRF Hay Drive campaign is essential to help the TRF meet its annual hay costs of more than $200,000. This year, the theme “Hay! It’s what’s for breakfast, lunch and dinner.” has already taken off with an early challenge grant.
