Country Side had the stocky look of a Quarter Horse and the class and brilliance of his sire, Secretariat. He died in late August at age 29.

Country Side, oldest Secretariat stallion, dies

Country Side, the oldest living Secretariat stallion, died peacefully at Diamond J. Farms in Texas at the end of summer, leaving many good-brained, big-strided offspring to continue the famous line in Thoroughbreds and in Quarter Horses.
