Delaware Park offers 30+ horses for sale

Delaware Park and Delaware Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association (DTHA) are excited to announce the first “End of Meet Showcase,” a joint event with CANTER-Delaware (CDE) and Mid-Atlantic Horse Rescue (MAHR) on Oct. 23 at Delaware Park. Approximately 30 to 40 horses will be available for purchase, and their trainers will be on hand to answer questions. Failed racehorse has big lead in OTTB hunters

Scotty Sherman’s Feather has soared to a commanding lead in the TAKE2 Hunter Division with 4,648 points, more than double that of Cree Sauer’s Cooperstown now in second place. Feather, who raced under the name She’s From Money, was bred in Maryland and sold for $1,000 as a yearling. She was unsuccessful in four starts at the track, earning just $1,980, but has blossomed since changing careers. (Please see earlier story in Off-Track Thoroughbreds.com). Rood & Riddle names TB sport horse of the year

The winner of the 2015 Rood & Riddle Thoroughbred Sport Horse of the Year Award was announced at the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders (TOBA) Annual Awards Dinner held on Sept. 10 at Stonestreet Farm in Lexington. The winner, Sound Prospect, also known as “Sounder,” was named a divisional winner in the Rood & Riddle Thoroughbred Sport Horse Awards earlier this year. These awards recognize Thoroughbreds who have excelled in second careers as performance horses in dressage, eventing, hunter, and jumper competitions throughout the year.
