Photo of the Week: From Germany with Love
The popularity of the off-track Thoroughbred is also running high in Germany, reports owner/rider Julia Francke. Her mare One Night Girl was born in 2000 and was on the track until 2009, after she was retrained for “military” riding, which is similar to Eventing in the US. Francke mainly does dressage with her mare, and enjoys lower-level jumping and trails with her mare, who she has owned since last year. Francke’s trainer Nina is pictured on her. —If you have a picture of your OTTB that you’d like to see featured here, please send it to susansalk@gmail.com.
