In Texas, the horse who was badly injured last month in an animal-cruelty case that left him skinned over large areas of his torso, and outraged the horse-welfare network, is expected to make a full recovery. Ann Banks is a good steward of racing
Author’s note: This story was originally published on April 20, 2012. Walking “hots” for Hall of Fame trainer Elliott Burch back in the 70s, Ann Banks learned the right way to treat racehorses.
