The beautiful Fair Hill racehorse facility in Maryland throws open its gate this month and invites ex-racehorse Thoroughbreds, their trainers, advocates, and riders to strut their stuff at the Totally Thoroughbred Show. John Murrell: Slaughter is a ‘weakness’ in racing
The rain was heavy and the fog thick as John R. Murrell tried to catch sight of John’s Treasure, his three-year-old gelding, barrel through the muddy track at the 1986 Belmont Stakes. The 7th annual CANTER New England Suffolk Showcase takes place on the backside of the East Boston racetrack this Sunday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Approximately 80 Thoroughbreds, who are available for purchase, will be walked and trotted before a crowd of prospective buyers.
