How about a lesson with a U.S. Olympic Team rider? Or maybe some pointers from Grand Prix Jumper and Hunter riders and trainers? Or if that doesn’t float your boat, perhaps some expert veterinary services for your horse, or a glamor-shot of your four-legged partner’s best side.  These are just some of the items in the Goody Bag being auctioned by one of the premier non-profits helping ex-racehorse Thoroughbreds.

On Aug. 14 through the 21st, some of the nation’s top riders—including Boyd Martin, Phillip Dutton, and Will Coleman—will auction their services to benefit CANTER Mid-Atlantic’s first-rate services to the nation’s ex-racehorse Thoroughbreds. And the show-stopping list of participating equestrians is just the beginning!

More than 100 exciting items, ranging from jewelry to consultations to a private tour of the Rolex Cross Country course are up for bid, a plethora of donated items that underscores the goodwill the horse industry feels toward organizations like CANTER Mid-Atlantic, says Allie Conrad, executive director of the nonprofit.

“We are overjoyed at the support we have received for the work we do to transition ex-racehorses into new careers,” Conrad says. “Thoroughbred racehorses are amazing animals and it’s through donations and fundraisers such as our online auction that give us the critical funds we need to keep the program going.”

She adds, “We truly appreciate the many offers that have come in this year to help support our work. Because of that support this year’s auction is shaping up to be one of the best!”

    Hi Susan –
We are putting on an eventing clinic with Daniel Clasing and for each rider $25 will go to Sleeping Fox Farm Thoroughbred Rescue to help pay for the many needed medical bills and horse care cost. This event is Sept 28-29th and will be awesome for the beginner to the training level eventer, especially for those who work and ride OTTB’s and TB’s as this is Daniel’s area of expertise. Can you help promote?
    Thanks
